First Day - Macau

Macau was essentially a layover - I flew into Hong Kong, took the ferry to Macau - no need to go through Hong Kong immigration, although the process is a little scary.

You go to the ticket counter for the ferry and purchase a ticket.  They take your luggage tags and promise to intercept your bags and have them for you in Macau.  You never actually see your bag, and have no idea as to whether they successfully intercepted it or not.

The alternative, however is to go through Hong Kong immigration, claim your bags, go though customs, take the train to the downtown ferry terminal, and then go through Macau immigration and customs.

So the day was a waiting day, and I spent it wandering some of Macau's streets

I also walked up to an old fort built by the Portuguese to protect the city.
